Bail was set at $200 cash for a 22-year-old Manitowoc man facing charges in connection to a hit and run accident last weekend.
Hunter D. Vanroeckel has been charged with Hit and Run-Causing Injury and Felony Bail Jumping.
Officers from the Manitowoc Police Department were called around 5:30 p.m. Sunday to respond to the incident involving a vehicle and cyclist at the intersection of S. 13th and Washington St.
A witness gave them a vehicle description and a license plate number. That, along with security camera footage led officers to a residence in the 900 block of S. 13th St. They saw Vanroeckel walk towards the vehicle in question.
As officers approached, he allegedly said he was “the guy you are looking for” and was taken into custody without incident.
Bail has been furnished with the lone condition that Vanroeckel has “no contact” with the victim. He’s due back in court for an initial appearance on April 11 at 1:30 p.m.
