One person is dead and a second received “significant” injuries following a two-vehicle crash early this morning in Sheboygan County.
Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Sgt. Randy Haag says a call came into the County Emergency Communication Center received a 911 call just before 5:45 a.m. of the accident on County Highway J, west of Meadowlark Road, in the town of Sheboygan Falls.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a 51-year-old female was traveling westbound on Highway J when she crossed the centerline, striking an eastbound vehicle head-on.
The 51-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim was transported to a Milwaukee hospital for treatment of “significant” injuries.
Names of those involved are expected to be released later today.
Several public safety agencies, including the State Patrol Reconstruction Team, assisted the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office on scene.
