Bail hearings were held yesterday for the two suspects involved in a weekend high-speed pursuit in Manitowoc County.
28-year-old Juan P. Flores of Neenah remains in the County Jail on $5,000 cash bail on charges that include 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and knowingly fleeing an officer.
30-year-old Jessica M. Loney of Denmark had bail set at $10,000 cash on similar charges in addition to possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. She also remains in the County Jail.
Manitowoc County deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop early Saturday morning on a stolen vehicle driving erratically on Highway 10 near Village Drive in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids.
The pursuit continued into the Village of Reedsville where Flores turned onto a dead-end, proceeding to ram police vehicles. He then exited the vehicle on foot and was apprehended a short time later.
Loney then got behind the wheel and pushed and pushed two vehicles out of the way while nearly striking deputies and pinching K-9 Officer Leon between two vehicles.
A second pursuit took authorities onto Mud Creek, Goodwin and Grimms Roads and back onto Highway 10, where deputies used a maneuver to force Loney off the road and into the ditch. She exited the vehicle and was taken into custody.
A deputy and K-9 Leon were treated for minor injuries.
Conditions of bail are that Flores and Loney have “no contact” with one another with Loney required to maintain “absolute sobriety.” Initial appearances are scheduled for both defendants next Monday at 1:30 p.m.
