Briess Malting in Manitowoc is off to a great start this year for the craft brewing side of their business.
Ron Schroder, Director of Marketing at Briess tells Seehafer News their team of dedicated employees is involved in crafting the highest quality specialty malt in the country.
“We are known for that across the industry and we supply customers coast to coast,” he said. “With covid during the last few years, a lot of beer is consumed in bars and restaurants and that business was significantly impacted at many of our customers.”
Schroder added that’s been a challenge the last few years for their customers, but as covid is easing, things are getting back to normal at bars and restaurants.
The Briess spokesman explained that business in bars and restaurants for the first part of 2022 is up about 10-percent while at the same time craft beer sold through grocery stores has been down about 5-percent.
That’s as customers “shift their beer consumption to away from home occasions with family and friends.”
