It was a successful day for Valders High School yesterday, as their students earned four gold medals at the WPS Solar Olympics.
The event was held on the UW Green Bay Campus and saw roughly 100 students from 11 schools in northeast and north-central Wisconsin attend.
Valders earned gold in the Solar Cooker, Solar Water Heater, Photovoltaic Innovation, and Solar Essay categories.
They also took top honors in the team competition, followed by Wausau West and Marinette.
This was the 26th iteration of the Solar Olympics, which helps highlight the importance of using the renewable, clean energy source.
