A 9-year-old child is dead after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in the Brown County Village of Suamico.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident at about 7:40 a.m. on Harbor Winds Drive at Bay Mist Court.
A preliminary investigation indicates the child was running alongside the vehicle driven by her mother, identified as Christine Newkirk of Suamico, when she fell and was struck by the vehicle.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Newkirk is fully cooperating with authorities and the accident remains under investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
