Construction to improve nearly four miles of Highway from Wisconsin 67 to the Wisconsin 32/57 south junction in Kiel has been completed a week ahead of schedule and on budget.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region says the new surface provides a smoother drive for motorists that included resurfacing the roadway with four inches of new asphalt, concrete repairs, beam guard and pavement marking.
The nearly three-month long, $3.1 million project also included installation of rumble strips and wider paved shoulders along with repairs and replacement of culverts to help ensure adequate drainage to mitigate possible flooding.
Crews may need to finish minor site cleanup over the next couple of days which will not impact traffic flow.
