Former Badgers basketball star Johnny Davis will wear number five for the Washington Wizards.
The announcement was made Tuesday. Davis became the first Wisconsin player to be selected in an NBA draft in seven years last week.
He wore number one while performing for coach Greg Gard but he’s going to be wearing the same number five with the Wizards that he had on his uniform at La Crosse Central.
Tyler Wahl was already wearing number five when Davis arrived in Madison as a freshman.
