The tower guy wire replacement project that started in early June will resume today on the WOMT tower.
The original job was delayed in June when the lead tower climber contracted Covid during the visit.
Tower crews will work to complete this preventative maintenance project that involved replacing 3 of the 30 guy wires to stabilize the structure.
These guy-wires have a synthetic “leader” known as “Phillystran.”
This portion of the guy wires has separated from the insulator and begun to fray at the 425-foot level.
While the crew is on the tower, WOMT-AM (1240am) and WQTC-FM (102.3) will be off the air.
WOMT-FM (107.9) and WLTU (92.1) will continue to broadcast during this maintenance.
Each station will also continue regular broadcasting online.
