Celebrate the Fourth Anniversary of Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center! July 28 through July 30 participate in activities to commemorate a fantastic four years of operation. Farm Wisconsin will be open with regular hours from 9am to 4pm, as well as the Wisconsin Café from 8am to 2:30pm.
Access to the Fourth Anniversary weekend events are included in regular admission to Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center – and kids get in FREE all weekend, when accompanied by a paying adult.
“We are thrilled to mark our fourth anniversary with additional attractions for the whole family,” shares Abigail Winkel, program manager. “The weekend’s events are just as diverse as the agriculture industries they will highlight. We hope you’ll join us as we dive into animal care, food production, soil science and more.”
All three days, try your hand at butter making. Presented by Pine River Dairy, guests have the opportunity to learn about the process of making butter and what resources are needed to make butter. Enjoy samples of different types of Pine River Dairy butter, then try making some butter yourself to take home.
On Friday only, come learn about different breeds of goats, including the popular fainting goats. You can meet the goats from 10am until 2pm. They will be visiting us from Brost Family Farm in Walworth County.
Special events for Saturday include the opportunity to visit with Miss Farm Bureau-Manitowoc County, from 10am to 2pm, as she demonstrates the behind the scenes of making mud. Guests will watch as dirt and water are combined to make mud, learning along the way how rainfall affects soil all around us. Additionally, there will be a 4-H Project Showcase from 9am to 2pm. Listen as 4-H members talk about their projects and meet some of their projects too, such as a rabbit and horse.
This weekend will be the last opportunity to try the July specials in the Wisconsin Café, including the fried ice cream for National Ice Cream Month.
