June was reportedly the worst month on record for southern border crossings.
That is according to 6th District Congressman Glenn Grothman, who told Seehafer News that U.S. Customs and Border Protection disclosed 207,426 encounters with illegal border crossers last month.
The Glenbeulah Republican also said that this was the fourth consecutive month when over 200,000 encounters were reported at the U.S./Mexico border.
Grothman compared that number to where it was in June 2020, when just over 33,000 illegal border crossers were caught.
Grothman said the problem isn’t people coming to America, it’s the drugs that are being brought with them.
“680 pounds of deadly fentanyl were seized at the border in June alone,” Grothman revealed. “Stopping the constant flow of fentanyl and other illicit drugs from pouring into our communities by way of the Cartels is essential if we are serious about ending the drug overdose crisis facing our nation.”
