Staff from United Way Manitowoc County were up early Friday morning to greet those wishing to donate to their “Stuff the Bus” campaign. Executive Director Ashley Bender says donations were accepted in their parking lot at 21 East Waldo Boulevard from 8 a.m. to noon.
Hygiene products, a couple of school supplies here and there, just those things that are needed to supply the community closets at our area schools. We know that this is not being done right now to help supply those things in community closets. It’s a huge responsibility on those schools to supply them so we decided to step up and give them a hand.”
Schools benefitting from “Stuff The Bus” include Jackson and Stangel Elementary in Manitowoc and Valders Middle School. The first 50 donors received a certificate to redeem for a free Dilly Bar from Dairy Queen. For more information, log onto unitedwaymanitowoccounty.org and click “Stuff The Bus”.
