A pizzeria owner from Appleton will be spending some time in federal prison.
Paul VanderLindin, who owned Muncheez Pizzeria, was sentenced to spend six months in prison as a part of a plea deal in which he also pleaded guilty to charges of Filing False Individual Tax Returns and Failing to Collect, Account for, and Pay Over Payroll Taxes.
VanderLinden skimmed around $800,000 from business receipts between 2012 and 2016 and diverted money to a personal bank account.
He also would pay his employees in cash and withheld a reported $88,000 in payroll taxes.
Also, as a part of his sentencing, VanderLinden was ordered to pay $168,000 in restitution to the IRS.
