A 24-year-old Manitowoc man, facing a charge of Possessing Child Pornography, is free on $7000 cash bail.
Dylan J. Nessman appeared in Manitowoc County Circuit Court for a bail hearing Thursday afternoon.
Police received a cyber tip earlier this month from the State of Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, in reference to an uploaded Child Sexual Assault Material file from an IP address at Nessman’s residence in the 1600 block of South 15th Street in Manitowoc.
Officers served a search warrant there Wednesday, where he admitted to them searching several internet sites to obtain and share pornographic material in different chatrooms.
Nessman reportedly admitted to police that his activity had escalated to not being healthy and was relieved he got caught.
Nessman also confessed to downloading the material, but never manufactured it, or had any sexual contact with a minor child.
Conditions of bail are that Nessman is not to have any contact with anyone under the age of 18 and is not to interact on the internet or social media or possess or use any internet-enabled device.
His initial appearance is scheduled for August 1st at 1:30 p.m.
