A Green Bay man is still receiving medical treatment following a motorcycle crash on I-43 in Manitowoc County.
According to Major Jason Orth with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department, the 66-year-old man was traveling south on the interstate highway on his motorcycle just before noon north of Schley Road.
He was in the left lane and was approaching the construction zone.
A semi in the right lane began to merge into the left lane, forcing the yet unidentified motorcyclist to take to the median, where he flipped his bike.
The man had to be taken by ambulance to the Maribel Community Center before he was flown via Eagle III to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
The driver of the semi did not stop, and no additional information on that semi has been made available to the Sheriff’s department at this time.
Since the Green Bay man is still actively being treated at St. Vincent, Deputies have not been able to speak with him about the crash.
Anyone who may have any additional information on the incident is encouraged to contact Deputy Mitch Geissler at 920-683-5000 extension 2440 or by sending an email to MitchGeissler@ManitowocCountyWI.gov.
