The Two Rivers City Council will hold a public hearing Monday night at their regularly scheduled meeting in regards to operating all-terrain and utility terrain vehicles on city streets.
Police Chief Brian Kohlmeier says an informational bulletin was recently mailed out to citizens in their utility bills.
He explained that “In that informational mailer, there’s a number of points on there that we have looked at as far as concerns or issues or just talking points regarding the use of ATVs and UTVs on the roadways.”
Kohlmeier has gone on record saying that he’s not in favor of this proposal.
“I know there is a time and place for it,” he said. “I’m not against ATVs and UTVs per se, it’s just in the City. That’s my take, but there certainly are other thoughts and opinions out there, and that’s what the public meeting is for.”
City Manager Greg Buckley says this has been brought up and discussed on multiple occasions over the last several years and agrees with the Chief, saying this should not come to pass.
Monday night’s Council Meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
