Bail is set at $2,000 recognizance for a 34-year-old Appleton woman facing several charges including retail theft at the Manitowoc Walmart.
Chelsea Nelson is also charged with Possession of a Narcotic II Drug and Possession of a non-schedule drug.
Police were called to the local business just after 7:15 Wednesday night and learned that Nelson had stolen several items with an approximate retail value of $440.
The State Patrol informed the Manitowoc Police Department that they had pulled over a vehicle matching Nelson’s on Highway 10.
A subsequent search of Nelsons’ vehicle turned up several items, including three paper cups inside a change compartment in her purse.
She was also found in possession of several drugs and was taken into custody.
She later admitted to committing retail thefts and reselling the stolen merchandise.
Conditions of bail are that Nelson is to have no contact with Walmart or its premises, maintain absolute sobriety from alcohol and drugs and not possess any prescribed medication unless prescribed to her in prescribed doses.
Her initial appearance is scheduled for September 19th at 1:30 p.m.
