Attendance for the just-completed Manitowoc County Fair was record-setting.
Jennell Shelton, Facility Manager for County Expo, tells Seehafer News, “We are looking at over 50,000 people that attended, which is a record number for us. We had the largest attendance on Friday and Saturday with over 12,000 and more than 14,000, respectively.”
She added, “The weather was good and we were pretty fortunate to have a great week. And the people were happy, the vendors did really well and that shows all the work our board did.”
Rob Voss, the fair’s Entertainment Chairman, explained that both the Farm Tractor Pulls and Modified Truck and Tractor Pulls were a huge success.
“The grandstand was packed full,” he said. “Everybody enjoyed it and then (for) the Sea Lion Show every day the bleachers were full. Lew-E’s Comedy Circus was another one that was really popular. And people connected with those two shows were extremely happy.”
Voss said most of the food vendors all did well and all made money, indicating they want to come back next year.
Shelton said the Rock Pavilion will be replaced with a new construction in its place, similar to what is there now.
Both Shelton and Voss said they received a lot of compliments about improvements to the grounds, and the affordable gate admission price of $10.00.
The dates for the 2023 Manitowoc County Fair are August 23rd through the 27th.
