Editors Note – We received a call from the former owner of Candy Division who explained that she actually sold the business in May, and it is now used as a residential unit. The initial police report indicated that the officers has spoken with the owners of the store, but in fact, they are residents of the building. Candy Division ceased operation during he height of the pandemic.
Bail is set at $2,000 cash for a 44-year-old Manitowoc man who was taken into custody following a rash of criminal activity on Labor Day (Monday).

Officers were called to a residence on Division Street for the report of a man (Vang) destroying a soda machine outside of Candy Division.
The owners told police that the suspect pulled the cords out of the back of the machine, taking the lock box.
Vang then entered what turned out to be his former residence on South 14th Street and started a part of the floor on fire.
Authorities were able to get to Vang and take him into custody without further incident.
No one was hurt and no dollar damage estimate is available.
Conditions of bail are that Vang is to have “no contact” with the victim and maintain “absolute sobriety.”
He remains in the County Jail with an initial appearance scheduled for September 26th at 1:30 p.m.
