Bail is set at $1200 recognizance for a 64-year-old Manitowoc man who was found to be slumped over the driver’s seat on the city’s southside.
Howard J. Landrey is charged with Fleeing or Eluding an Office and Resisting an Officer.
He also faces a city charge of OWI .A Manitowoc Police Officer was on routine patrol early last Saturday morning when he noticed a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Western Avenue and South 26th Street.
When approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed Jandrey slumped over, tapped on the window and that’s when he fled His vehicle was finally contained in the PDQ parking lot.
As officers approached with weapons drawn, Jandrey allegedly was shouting expletives at them, refusing to exit his vehicle.
He was finally subdued, placed in handcuffs, and taken into custody without further incident.
No one was hurt.
The lone condition of bail is that Jandrey maintain “absolute sobriety” and his initial appearance is scheduled for October 3rd at 1:30.
