The Alzheimer’s Association has announced that their Walk to End Alzheimer’s held this weekend was a major success.
It is anticipated that walkers and teams across the County helped raise over $32,000 to help fund research and local services for Alzheimer’s Disease.
The local services slatted to receive some of that cash include support groups, educational, informational, and referral services, care and support, advocacy efforts, and a 24/7 helpline.
More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, 120,000 of those are in Wisconsin.
An additional 198,000 Wisconsinites serve as caregivers, while over 1,900 people age 65 and older in Manitowoc County are living with dementia
