A 41-year-old New Holstein man is dead after being struck by a vehicle late Saturday afternoon in Manitowoc County.
Sheriff Dan Hartwig says that EMS and Fire Personnel responded a little after 5:50 p.m. to County Highway X west of State Highway 67 in The Town of Schleswig on a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian,
A preliminary investigation indicates that the victim, identified as Juan Ricardo Heredia, was standing in the lane of travel on County Highway X outside of his car, when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Kourtney Marie Gardner from Reedsville.
No lights appeared to have been activated on the victim’s vehicle.
Heredia was pronounced dead at the scene. No was else as hurt. No other details are being released at this time as the crash remains under investigation.
