The Manitowoc Lincoln Girls Volleyball team will be playing for a Section Championship and the right to go to the State Tournament tomorrow night.
The Ships, with the #2 seed and #6 rank in the Wisconsin Coaches Poll, outlasted West Bend East 3 sets to 1 last night in the semifinals at Watertown High School.
Lincoln won the match 25-21, 25-15, 22-25, and 25-22 to earn a berth in the title match.
They will battle top-ranked and once-beaten Oconomowoc after the Raccoons swept host Watertown in the other semifinal match (25-10, 25-17, and 25-20).
The Championship match is scheduled for Oconomowoc Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. according to the WIAA website.
Three-time defending state champion Howards Grove is one match win away from advancing to the WIAA State Girls Volleyball Tournament. The Tigers eliminated Big East rival Oostburg in 3-sets last night (25-12, 25-13 25-13) to move on to the Division-3 Sectional finale. Howards Grove will battle Shoreland Lutheran, a 5-set winner over top-seeded Lake Country Lutheran. The championship match will be played tomorrow (Saturday) night at 7 :00 at Oostburg High School.
