Voters in The Towns of Gibson and Kossuth have approved having their clerks be appointed rather than elected.
The vote in Gibson was 389 to 293 in favor and 584 to 419 in Kossuth.
Meanwhile, those in the Town of Schleswig voted 588 to 453 to have both their Town Clerk and Treasurer appointed by the Town Board.
Also, voters in The Two Rivers School District have passed a referendum for $38.7 million for facility improvements and upgrades.
The vote was 3,190 yes to 1894 no.
Superintendent Diane Johnson told us before election night that the greatest need is at L.B. Clarke Middle School, where a fifth-grade wing will be added, and lunchrooms will be expanded.
Other renovations or upgrades include improving building security to main entrances at Two Rivers High and MaGee Elementary School, major building system upgrades including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing repair at each school and updates to playground areas at elementary and middle schools.
Taxpayers in the district will pay an additional $49 per a year based on ownership of a $100,000 home,
No timetable has been set for when work will begin.
