A home in Kiel suffered extensive damage because of a fire Tuesday afternoon.
The Kiel Fire Department responded just after 2 p.m. for a report of the back of a house on fire at 323 Lincoln Street.
Upon arrival. Crews saw heavy smoke and flames visible from the rear of the structure.
The fire was extinguished within ten minutes and crews remained on the scene for two and a half hours conducting overhaul and salvage operations.
The lone occupant of the home was able to evacuate prior to crews arrival and two pets were rescued by Kiel Fire Personnel.
One unidentified individual was treated for possible smoke inhalation and transported to a local hospital by Kiel Ambulance.
No dollar damage estimate is available at this time and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Other agencies assisting on scene were New Holstein, Plymouth, St. Anna, St. Nazianz, Elkhart Lake and Glenbeulah Fire Departments, New Holstein First Responders, Kiel Police and Utilities, and The Manitowoc County Joint Dispatch Center.
