Bail is set at $10,000 cash each for two adults arrested last week in connection with the recent death of a young child.
34-year-old Catherine D. Carter of Manitowoc is charged with neglecting a child, two misdemeanor counts of child neglect, possession of MDMA with intent to deliver and maintaining a drug trafficking place,
while 38-year-old Lavell L. Nance, also of Manitowoc, is charged with Possession of the drug MDMA with Intent to Deliver, Keeper of a Drug House and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Manitowoc Police became aware of the situation last month when they received a complaint from a local health care facility and officials continue their investigation in consultation with medical experts which could lead to additional or modification of current charges.
Conditions of Bail for Carter include that she has “no contact” with two other unnamed juveniles in the household apart from discretion granted by Child Family Services and she must maintain “absolute sobriety”
Nance’s bail conditions state that he must maintain “absolute sobriety” and is to have “no contact” with two unidentified juveniles in the household.
Both defendants remain in The County Jail and are due back in court for preliminary hearings November 23rd.
