Bail is set at $2,000 recognizance for a 25-year-old Maribel man for allegedly fleeing police yesterday afternoon.
Tony Joe Brantmeier is charged with Fleeing or Eluding an officer.
Brantmeier, whose records show that he was out on bail on a previous legal matter, was spotted leaving the Probation and Parole Office on Maritime Drive heading west on on East Magnolia Avenue.
He then turned north onto Johnston Drive at speeds of around 40 miles per hour where posted speeds are 25 miles-per-hour, swerving around vehicles,
Brantmeier’s vehicle eventually ended up in a ditch near the intersection of Johnston Drive and Goodwin Road where officers quickly apprehended The Maribel man and took him into custody without further incident.
The lone condition of bail is that Brantmeier is not to drive a motor vehicle.
His initial appearance is scheduled for December 12th at 1:30 p.m.
