Manty Dance will take to the stage of the Capitol Civic Center in Manitowoc tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m.
“Snowed In” features several selections that celebrate the holidays and winter season, including “A Coldest Winter”, “Frosty” and “The Nutcracker Suite.”
Gretchen Jacobson has been dancing since she as 10 years old and said while on WOMT’s Sports Talk Show Monday night, being in Manty Dance has been one of the most rewarding and fun times of her life.
“I love Manty Dance because we feel like a family,” she told Brian Norton and John Johnson. “The older girls, support the younger girls, and we are like mentors for them. It’s really special. I am really grateful to be involved in it.”
Ely Reed says every girl brings something fun and unique to the group.
Being a mentor to some of the younger girls herself, she gives credit to a couple of ladies that have mentored her, Riley Johnson and Abby Cookle.
“I watch Riley dance and I watch her choreograph and I’m just like ‘Oh my gosh,’” she said. “I want to be as empowering and as inspirational as [she] is to all the kids at the studio. Abby, she does it in a different way…Riley does it a lot with her dancing, Abby does it a lot with her actions. I think I have learned a lot from both of them.”
Tickets are still available for “Snowed In” by calling the Capitol Civic Center Box Office at (920) 683-2184 or by visiting CCCShows.org.
