Every year it seems like a new strand of Christmas lights stops working.
If that is the case, the Manitowoc County Recycling Center is willing to take them off of your hands for free.
All you have to do is bring them to the Recycling Center Main office at 3000 Basswood Road in Manitowoc between 7:00 and 4:00 p.m. any weekday.
Operations Manager Jon Reisenbuechler tells Seehafer News that “Strings of lights are highly recyclable even with the bulbs in them… All string lights will be accepted as well as extension cords. Garland, wreaths, trees and other lighted decorations will not be accepted though.”
Since the Christmas light recycling program started in 2015 over 6500 pounds have been collected.
