Schroeder’s Department Store in Two Rivers has announced a fundraiser to support the Vollrath Division of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps.
The local store is hosting a Penny War, where participants can stop in and drop pennies into a jar noting their favorite branch of the military.
The proceeds will go to the Sea Cadets program. These young men and women are as young as 10 years old, and participate in the program to feed their sense of adventure, seek challenges, and step outside of their comfort zones.
The Vollrath Division of the USNSCC, based in Sheboygan County, exposes young men and women to many areas of life from medical, agriculture to business just to name a few.
12% of graduating cadets are accepted into Service Academies and 30% enlist in the United States Military.
