A 50-year-old Manitowoc man arrested late last week on a 4th OWI Charge, appeared for a bail hearing recently in Manitowoc County Circuit Court.
Police responded to a report last Thursday evening of a vehicle, driven by Christopher P. Johnson in a ditch between the Walmart parking lot and Calumet Avenue.
Witnesses told police that Johnson stumbled up an embankment and was speaking incoherently.
Police located him near the entrance of Walmart and immediately noticed signs of impairment, including smelling of alcohol and barely having the ability to stand on his own.
After denying a field sobriety test, Johnson was taken to Holy Family Memorial for a blood draw, then booked into the County Jail.
Conditions of bail are that Johnson is not to drive a motor vehicle and also maintain absolute sobriety.
He is free on $100 cash bond with his initial appearance scheduled for February 6th.
