A 20-year-old Appleton woman has died following a crash in Fond du Lac County.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash at around 5:45 Sunday evening on Highway 26 near Cattaraugus Road in the Township of Waupun.
It was determined a car was traveling north when it crossed over the centerline and collided with a southbound SUV.
The woman driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 60-year-old Waupun woman driving the SUV was taken to a hospital for treatment of what were termed minor injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office says that speed and inattentive driving were the major contributors to the crash.
No names have been released pending notification of the family.
