School resource officers or armed school security guards may be required to be hired by a new piece of legislation in the Wisconsin Capitol.
Schools across the state would be required to report all “incidents” involving the police, a crime, or an arrest under the plan, which is up for hearing today.
A school would be required to hire an armed guard or police officer for the following school year if there are 100 incidents at the school and 25 of them result in an arrest.
The armed officers or guards would also have to be paid for by the state Department of Public Instruction, according to the legislation.
