We in Wisconsin are once again turning our clocks forward on March 12th for Daylight Saving Time.
Manitowoc Fire Chief Todd Blaser says this is an opportunity to change smoke alarm batteries as well.
“It’s that annual campaign promoting the importance of working smoke alarms because they provide that early warning signal in event of a fire,” he told Seehafer News. “A lot of people don’t realize when you go to sleep, your nose goes to sleep, so smoke detectors are such a valuable tool to have present in your home and make sure that they’re working just for that fact alone.”
When replacing a battery in your smoke detector, follow the manufacturer’s instructions that are specific to the batteries you are using and note the provided list of batteries on the back of your alarm.
