With the blessing of the school board, a Fishing Club has been formed at Two Rivers High School.
As Superintendent of School Diane Johnson said, “How can you NOT have a fishing club when you live in Two Rivers, on two rivers, and you have Lake Michigan?”
Johnson explained that teacher Ryan Hansen has formed a competitive Ice Fishing Club.
“Ryan takes about 15 kids, boys and girls, out on weekends to tournaments,” she noted. “Different schools have different clubs and tournaments, so they are competing against other schools.”
And, the superintendent of schools told Seehafer News that 3 or 4 members of the fishing club came to a Two Rivers School Board meeting and shared their victories and experiences.
Now, according to Johnson, Hansen is looking to expand the fishing club to a spring and summer season as well.
