“Great Ladies of Song” will be featured this Friday night at Manitowoc’s Capitol Civic Centre.
It’s part of the Lakeshore Big Band Concert starting at 7:30 p.m. celebrating iconic female jazz singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, and Peggy Lee.
The Assistant Director of Lakeshore Big Band, Chris Woller, was on the WCUB Breakfast Club Monday morning and spoke of special guest vocalist Erin Krebs.
“She’s kind of the hidden gem of Wisconsin,” he explained. “As Erin sings with us, you’re going to swear that you are hearing Aretha Franklin, Etta James, and so on singing with us. It’s going to be quite the treat for everybody who shows up there on Friday.”
Woller explains that Krebs was awarded the WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Female Vocalist of the Year for 2018 and 2019.
“She was in for a rehearsal a while ago and then as she is quite an active musician she’d been away performing elsewhere,” Wollner noted. “And now she’s going to join us this week for rehearsal and obviously for our concert. Yeah, it’s absolutely a treat.
Tickets for this Friday night’s show at the Capitol are $16.00 for the main floor and mezzanine sections, while balcony and student tickets are $9.00.
They’re available in person at the box office or at CCCShows.org.
