Today (April 3rd), the Street Sweeping Parking Ban will be put in place to allow for the streets to remain clean, as well as the lakes and rivers.
The city emphasizes that the public be aware that anything in the street enters the storm sewers, which lead directly to Lake Michigan and our rivers.
The ban will remain in place until further notice.
To avoid being issued parking tickets, only park on the street after the posted time, and avoid parking on the streets during the morning hours.
Crews can more effectively clean the streets without cars blocking the curbs and sewers.

The City urges the public to help keep our waters and drinking water sources clean, and the parking ban will help that cause.
