The Manitowoc Lincoln Girls Softball team improved to 2 and oh this Spring with an 11 to 1 victory over Sheboygan North.
The game lasted 6 innings and Ships starting pitcher Karenna Sorenson allowed just 4 hits and registered 11 strikeouts.
Sorenson also aided her own cause at the plate by driving in a pair of runs.
Delaney Granger led Manitowoc’s offense with a 2-for-4 performance including a home run, single, and 3-RBI.
Kailee Ansorge added a triple and went 2-for-4 and Natalie Lehman chipped in 2 singles and drove in 2 runs.
Lincoln is scheduled to play at Fond du lac this evening in a 5:00 p.m. start.
Elsewhere in local Softball today, Two Rivers is on the road for a ballgame against Kewaunee, Valders is at Luxemburg-Casco and the co-op of Sheboygan Falls/Kohler visits Oostburg.
There are five games of area interest in Boys Baseball this afternoon. Manitowoc Lincoln is scheduled to open its season at Municipal Field with a 4:30 first pitch against Plymouth, Denmark will host Luxemburg-Casco, Sheboygan North makes the short hop to Howards Grove, Sheboygan Falls travels to North Fond du lac and Brillion is home for Oostburg.
