A Manitowoc builder said recently that he plans to start constructing new houses soon on land once occupied by the former Memorial Hospital.
Mike Howe referred to the development called The Preserve at Lincoln Park with two streets named Wolf Run and Lynx Lane.
Howe tells Seehafer News he’s hopeful of building a 33-lot community, after getting approval for pre-construction last week.
He explained that will include “stripping ground and bringing in roads, sewer, and water in. I got three houses that I should be starting hopefully this month yet and people are meeting me all the time to discuss a lot purchase. So, if anybody has interest please reach out to me.
Those interested in purchasing one of the lots should go to the Mike Howe Builders website and fill out a form and he’ll follow up with a contact.
“We are hoping to have a four-year turnaround and have all 33 homes built,” he revealed. “I’m hoping to get the 5-to-8 built this year if possible and just keep on that path.”
Howe explained that the primary sales interest so far has come from out of town residents and he sees the housing development as part of a larger scope with hiking paths and a kayak launch to be added nearby in the near future.
