In FRCC Girls Softball last night, Notre Dame handed Manitowoc Lincoln its first loss of the season, 19-to-7, at the Citizen Park Manitowoc Youth Sports Complex.
In a losing effort for the Ships, now 3-and-1, Karenna Sorenson went 3 for 3 with a single, double, and a triple while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 more.
Ana Sanchez and Olivia Konkle were 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI, respectively.
Lincoln has a conference game at De Pere Friday. Elsewhere, also in FRCC action, Green Bay Preble dominated Sheboygan South 15-0.
In the EWC, Roncalli improves to 2-0 after the Jets edged visiting Kiel 6-to-5. Coach Adam Wachowski’s team plays at Two Rivers Thursday afternoon.
In the Big East, Mishicot breezed past Manitowoc Lutheran 12-to-2 in the league opener as the Indians also start the season 2-0.
Dawn Shimek’s squad travels to Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Thursday.
Elsewhere, Howards Grove and Oostburg played a doubleheader with the visiting Tigers sweeping the twin bill by scores of 7-2 in the opener and 11-2 in the nightcap.
Also, Sheboygan Lutheran beat Cedar Grove-Belgium 15-7, and Random Lake shut down Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah with a 10-0 win.
In the East Central Conference, it was Winneconne nipping Plymouth 5-to-4.
