Bail is set at $1,500 recognizance for a 29-year-old male suspect for allegedly stealing from a Manitowoc grocery store and then attempting to flee police.
Dakota J. Glines, who’s listed as a transient, is charged with Retail Theft, Resisting An Officer, Carrying a Concealed Knife and one count each of Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. Jumping.
Authorities were called to Piggly Wiggly on North 8th Street around 6:30 Monday morning on a report of a man (Glines) who locked himself in the bathroom with socks and a package of cookie dough in his pocket.
Glines told police that he was changing his socks and took a bite out of the cookie dough, which he said he intended to pay for.
He attempted to flee once told that he was under arrest and was taken down to the ground and cuffed.
A subsequent search revealed that Glines had a concealed knife and multi-tool on his person, and he was taken to the County Jail.
The lone condition of bail is that Glines is to have no contact with Piggly Wiggly and his initial appearance is scheduled for May 8th.
