Bail is set at $10,000 cash for a 54-year-old Manitowoc man after allegedly striking several vehicles while driving drunk and fleeing police.
Richard D. Schroder is charged with Fleeing or Eluding an Officer, Obstructing an Officer, Failure to Install an Interlock Ignition Device, Operating While Revoked, Hit and Run and 9th Offense-Operating While Intoxicated.
Police were dispatched to Bill’s Auto on Calumet Avenue Thursday afternoon on a report of a vehicle striking two others and fled the scene.
Schroder then allegedly struck a third vehicle at South 39th and Calumet before officers spotted his vehicle on South Rapids Road.
A high-risk traffic stop was deployed and after being uncooperative with police Schroder was tasered, eventually handcuffed and taken to a hospital for an evidentiary blood draw and then taken to The County Jail.
Conditions of Bail are that Schroder is not to operate any motor vehicle and maintain absolute sobriety.
He remains in The County Jail with his initial appearance set for Monday afternoon at 1:30
