Two of the largest businesses in Wisconsin are engaged in a legal dispute over an Eau Claire parking lot.
In an effort to recover the costs of repaving the parking lot of their store on Mall Drive in Eau Claire, Festival Foods sued Menards earlier this month.
The building’s landlord is Menards.
Festival claims it spent $30,000 to resurface the parking lot and now wants a deduction from its rent of that sum.
Festival estimates that the discount would be 40%.
Menards is not discussing the suit.
