It was a record-breaking day for Manitowoc Lincoln High School track athlete Tessa Campbell.
Tessa and her teammates competed Wednesday in the FRCC Conference championships at Green Bay Southwest with the Ships girls placing 5th in the 10 school meet, while the boys wound up tied for 6th in their competition.
Campbell shattered the school record in the 400-meter dash formerly held by Emily Dawidowich in winning the event in a time of 58.03.
Tessa then raced to victory in the 200 meters in 25.26 seconds, breaking the conference meet record, also held by Dawidowich.
She concluded her afternoon by teaming up with Breanna Jansky, Ava Bierman, and Audrey Rabitz to capture the 4 x 400 relay, earning her 1st team All-FRCC in 3 events.
In the boys’ conference track meet, Lincoln senior Mason Gates won the Mile for the 3rd straight year in a personal best time of 4 minutes 18 seconds, earning 1st-team all-conference honors.
Gates also finished 2nd in the 2-Mile run while Caleb Jatczak continued his breakout junior season placing runnerup in the 800-meter run.
