In Boys Tennis, Manitowoc Lincoln’s #1 Doubles tandem has earned a return trip to State.
The duo of Ayden Knuth and Cohen Newberg punched their ticket to Nielsen Stadium at UW-Madison by virtue of a runner-up finish at Thursday’s Sectional held at the Fox Cities Racquet Club.
Ayden and Cohen began the day with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over a team from Hartford, followed by a 6-4, 6-0 win over West Bend East.
Then, in the championship round, the Ships athletes dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Neenah’s Satchel Moss and Ben Kotchen.
Coach Bob Feller says their first match at the State Tournament is Thursday, June 1st in Madison.
