A Mishicot Firefighter was named Wisconsin Firefighter of the Year.
John Tulachka was presented with a citation by Representative Shae Sortwell and Senator Andrew Jacque for his bravery and quick thinking that saved a family from a fire amidst a snowstorm in February of 2022.
Tulachka is a volunteer firefighter for the Mishicot and Tisch Mills fire departments, as well as a full-time public works director for the village of Mishicot.
Sen. Jacque exclaimed that “It is encouraging to know that we have local heroes residing in our district who devote their time to the community and help make our neighborhoods a safe place to reside.”
