The Mishicot Girls Softball team came up short in the semifinals of the state tournament in Madison, bowing to Mayville by a score of 6-1. Ally Schwartz was the winning pitcher for the Cardinals, giving up just a single run in a complete game performance. The Indians bats had been potent all season, but were mostly quiet in this one. Mayville scored three times in the third inning. Cora Stodola took the loss, also pitching a complete game. It’s a 21-6 season for Mishicot under coach Dawn Shimek, and second-seeded Mayville will meet top-seeded Brodhead at 1 tomorrow afternoon for the state division 3 title.
