In American Legion Baseball, Manitowoc withstood a late rally to defeat visiting Green Bay Southwest 7-to-4 at Municipal Field last night.
The winning pitcher for Legion Post 88 was Zander Popp of Two Rivers, who tossed 5 innings of no hit ball with a walk and 6 strikeouts.
Gavin Lettenberger worked the last 2 innings and was charged with 4 unearned runs, all coming in the 7th, on 4 hits and 3 strikeouts.
Offensively, Kiel’s Nathan Stephany went 3 for 4 with an RBI while Brock Peterson added 2 hits including a double and run batted in.
Another Lincoln product, Bryce Erdmann, chipped in an RBI single for Manitowoc, now 1-and-2.
Coach Kevin Stangel’s team is scheduled to travel to Ashwaubenon for a game Saturday (June 17th).
