The Two Rivers Historical Society is inviting the community to the reopening of The Washington House Museum and Visitor Center.
The event on Saturday the 24th will last from noon to 4:00 p.m. located at 1622 Jefferson Street.
The day will feature music, door prizes, and guided tours from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., though guests are welcome to explore the updated exhibits and rooms.
The Washington House is also comprised of Berner’s Ice Cream Parlor, which is known for the invention of the ice cream sundae in 1881.
This season the parlor is serving their specialty called the Ruby, which is comprised of “deliciously tangy rhubarb sauce and hot caramel sauce over Butter Pecan or Vanilla ice cream, topped with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry”.
The museum gift shop will also be open with Two Rivers merchandise as well as music with Two River’s Schmitt Brothers Quartet among the options.
