Bail is set at $2,500 recognizance for a 63-year-old Manitowoc man after he allegedly attempted to run over another individual over the weekend.
Jeffrey R. Krouse is charged with Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Negligent Operation of a Vehicle and Disorderly Conduct.
The victim told police that he was driving down the road when another vehicle pulled over and allowed him to pass. The victim was followed to a North 8th Street parking lot where smart phone video revealed that Krouse attempted to run him over.
Police got the license plate number from that evidence and located Krouse. He said he was on his way home from a bar and that the victim was the one who jumped in front of his car when he attempted to leave.
Based on the evidence, Krouse was taken into custody without further incident.
Conditions of bail are that Krouse have “no contact” with the victim and maintain “absolute sobriety” with the exception of prescribed medications.
Krouse is due back in Manitowoc County Circuit Court July 10th for an initial appearance.
